Lutterworth College Shoebox appeal
Lutterworth College students have been busy filling and packing shoeboxes with gifts and toys for underprivileged children around the world as part of Operation Christmas Child Appeal. Christian charity, Samaritans Purse has been running the Operation Christmas Child Appeal since 1990, distributing the gift-filled shoeboxes around the world. Last year the boxes were sent to the refugee camps that were established due to the Syria crisis and they were gratefully received. This year the students filled 81 boxes and these will also be delivered to children around the world who face a difficult Christmas facing hardship and struggle.
Head of Lutterworth College, Ben Solly commented “I am very proud that students from Lutterworth College have been able to support Operation Christmas Child through the shoebox appeal again this year. It is wonderful that children around the world, living in poverty and distressing conditions, will receive their special shoebox filled with toys and we are privileged to have helped make this happen”
