Guidance for Parents & Carers

As a parent or carer, you want to be able to guide and advise your child towards the best opportunity for them. So, where do you start?

Our new guide attached below has been designed to help parents and carers explore the exciting world of apprenticeships with their child, to understand the range of resources and support services available to them, and how to access them.

For National Apprenticeship Week we were busy promoting apprenticeships across the Year groups and  enjoyed having a number of external speakers in to talk during assemblies including LEBC & Clipper Logistics (GXO) to talk about Higher & Degree Apprenticeships and Oliveti Group to talk about Careers & Apprenticeships in Construction.
Teachers were also busy promoting Careers & Apprenticeships related to their subjects in the classroom and a group of Year 12's watched a live webinar on the NHS Allied Health Professions.
We also put on Satchel One a whole host of links to webinars, events, games, quizzes and activities for students to explore and our Year 7's also had an Apprenticeship Activity Pack to complete during mentor time.

We hope that these activities have highlighted the fantastic range of Apprenticeships there are out there.  If any of our students would like further information on Apprenticeships they are invited to make an appointment to see Mrs Cant, Careers Advisor.

Here is the link to a bespoke 'Introduction to Apprenticeships' video we had put together for us by Amazing Apprenticeships. This was shown in Year 10 assembly during NAW and explains everything students need to know about the different levels of Apprenticeships and which sectors and industries they can take one in.  Apprenticeships are a fantastic alternative to full-time college or university courses.  Please click below to view:-

For National Apprenticeship Week this year each day our assembly focused on the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities available to anyone over the age of 16.

We welcomed back 2 of our fabulous ex-students Kian and Cerys who spoke to our Year 10, 11 & 13 students about their experiences on the degree apprenticeship programmes they are currently on at Eon and EY.  Inspiring stories for our pupils!
We also welcomed the Apprenticeship Roadshow Team from Warwickshire College Group (WCG) with their 'big yellow bus'.  Year 11 students interested in Apprenticeships participated in a range of activities to promote Apprenticeship awareness.  They all got to board the bus and hear a talk about the different levels of Apprenticeships and the types of opportunities available to them.  It was great to see so many students joining in.
