Lutterworth College

Lutterworth Olympics

The Lutterworth Olympics came to life on Friday 8th July when over 400 students from 40 countries and five continents participated. The day was opened with all countries walking in, bearing their flags and it was brought to a close by the amazing dance performance of the very talented Natasha Moore.

The school houses were renamed as the five continents; Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe and the America’s. Students were then split into eight groups that were countries within these continents. They each had a mixture of years 7, 10 and 12. The sun shone brightly and there was great team work, enthusiasm and enjoyment had by all.

The continents moved around a variety of stations that comprised of; the tug of war, orienteering, water races, plank races, the human crane and races that included the 60m sprint, the sack race and the 3 legged egg and spoon. Staff and students got involved and it was great to see the help and encouragement given during the day.
